This notice serves to place an erratum in respect of the advertisement issued on 11 December 2024, Reference Number: MN3828/24 containing the vacancy advertisement for Truck Driver: Parks Section which closes on 16 January 2025. Applicants should NOTE that the purpose of the erratum is to correct the salary scale to the 2024/2025 salary and wage curve collective agreement.
Salary Scale applicable:
SALARY: R 197 088.00 pa – R 221 664.00 pa (Level 10 of a Grade 04 Local Authority)
Total package inclusive of all benefits: R 336 029.84 pa
REQUIREMENTS
-Grade 10. - Valid Code 10 driver’s license with PDP. -Code 14 Driver’s license will be an added advantage. -Interpersonal & communication skills. -Skills and competencies associated with vocation: adaptability, communication, conflict & stress management, negotiation skills, problem solving skills and attention to detail. -Driving experience under Parks Section will be an added advantage. -2 (two) years relevant driving experience in local government.
DUTIES
-Responsible for safety and productivity of Parks Section team in order to prevent injuries. -Driving truck safely according to traffic rules. -Acting as supervisor over the Parks Section teams and establish a safe environment before work can commence. -Assist tree cutting team with cutting trees, branches to ensure a safe and neat environment. -Planning of daily tasks and moving from one workplace to the next according to request from the assistant foreman or superior to prioritize work and maximize efficiency and productivity. -Planning of daily tasks and moving from one place to another according to requests. -Responsible for general maintenance of the truck to ensure minimum breakage and damages. -To work full day on alternative short-Fridays (pay day). -Perform any other related ad hoc tasks as requested or required by management from time to time.
