This notice serves to place an erratum in respect of the advertisement issued on 19 March 2025, Reference Number: MN3871/25 containing the vacancy advertisement for Senior Admin Assistant: Building Control which closes on 10 April 2025. Applicants should NOTE that the purpose of the erratum is to inform of the salary adjustment based on the 2024/2025 salary and wage collective agreement. Candidates that applied should note the salary adjustment is as follows:
Job level 7 of a Grade 4 Local Authority –
Salary: R312 792,00 pa – R362 520.00 pa
Total Cost to Company R485 549.00 pa
REQUIREMENTS
-Grade 12. - National Diploma in Public Administration or equivalent NQF 6 qualifications. – Valid Driver’s License. – Advance Computer Literate (MS Office). Can easily adapt to learning new system/s - Knowledge and understanding of Building Control policies and procedures. Knowledge of legislation pertaining to Administration - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written) - Skills and Competencies associated with vocation: adaptability, communication, assertiveness/leadership skills, conflict and stress management, negotiation skills, problem solving skills, office/diary management skills, strong administrative skills, writing and typing skills, attention to detail, Supervision and Training skills, Report writing skills. The individual must value commitment, integrity, team player, reliability, collaboration, goes an extra mile, takes initiative. – Three (3) years’ relevant experience in Office Administration Building Control section within Local Government Authority.
DUTIES
-Performs administrative support relating to the department as a whole -Performs a comprehensive administrative function pertaining to: -Building and Land use. – Makes sure that Internal circulation of applications happens timeously. -Office administration. - Receive building plans for circulation to building inspectors and other relevant departments from the public for approval. -Compile Building and Town Planning reports and letters. Records management and supervision of the departmental archives. Handling general enquiries and complaints from the public– Schedules meeting for the department and takes minutes, Comfortable and proficient in working ITC systems being CitySolve and Solar. Other general administrative assistance to technical staff. -Perform any other related Ad Hoc task and duties as requested or required by management (supervisor) from time to time.
Salary: R312 792,00 pa – R362 520.00 pa (Level 07 of a Grade 04 Local Authority)
Total Package inclusive of all benefits: R485 549.00 pa
