REQUIREMENTS

 

-Grade 12. - National Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent NQF-6 qualification - Recognised Trade Tested Plumber/Millwright (Red Seal). - Valid Driver’s License C1 with PDP. - Computer literacy (MS Word, excel and PowerPoint). - Must be prepared to work overtime. - Computer Literate (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint & MS Projects). - Project Management & Financial Management skills & experience. - Competent in implementation, interpretation & enforcement of relevant legislation and applicable policies. - Proven management skills including analytical thinking, empowerment, adaptability, communication & interpersonal, leadership skills, conceptual skills, presentation skills, conflict and stress management skills, negotiation skills, attention to detail, Report writing skills. - Proven knowledge and understanding of civil engineering principles and techniques. - Proven knowledge of water and sewer network maintenance and construction. - Five (05) years’ relevant experience in water services/maintenance.

 

DUTIES

 

-Responsible for the general supervision and operation of the water supply section. - Assists the superintendent to supervise and organize all the water supply activities including allocating work orders to staff. - Supervise and assists plumbers and special worksmen with the maintenance of all water related functions including: daily water supply, water queries, general water works, maintenance of the water pipes and new pipe installations, etc. - Supervise and control maintenance and repairs of all assets including: pipes, water machines, vehicles, and other equipment, etc. - Attend to public complaints and prioritise sectional activities accordingly. - Responsible for general administrative functions, discipline and occupational health and safety within the section. - Perform any other related Ad Hoc tasks and duties as requested or required by management (supervisor) from time to time.

 

 

SALARY: R 408 648.00 p.a. – R 451 380.00 p.a. (Level 06 of a Grade 04 Local Authority)

Total package inclusive of all benefits: R 615 848.68 p.a.
