REQUIREMENTS
- Grade 12. - National Diploma in Civil Engineering. - Code C1 driver’s license, PDP will be an added advantage. - Grader and/or TLB operator license will be an added advantage. - Computer literacy (MS Word, excel and PowerPoint). - Meet MFMA minimum competency requirements or qualify for dispensation. - Professional Registration with ECSA will be an added advantage. - Project Management and Financial Management skills and experience. - Proven knowledge of roads and storm water construction and equipment. - Specialized knowledge of earth works, roads and storm water, road marking & signage and knowledge of earth moving equipment. - Excellent interpersonal & communication skills. Skills & competencies associated with vocation: project management, conflict & stress management, empowerment, adaptability, leadership skills, negotiation skills, analytical thinking, presentation skills. - Must be able to perform standby and or overtime duties. – (Three) 3 – (Five) 5 years’ experience responsible for Roads & Stormwater, experience within Local government authority will be an added advantage.
DUTIES
-Control, coordinate, train and supervise subordinates in the section. - Assist the Superintendent with the planning and daily duties of the section. - Attend to public complaints and prioritise sectional activities accordingly. - Allocation of work orders to staff members. - Responsible for staff discipline and safety. - Perform all administrative duties of subordinate staff members including managing their leave applications. - Perform standby and overtime duties as and when required. - Responsible for all operational, maintenance and construction aspects of surfaced roads, gravel roads & road marking & signage within the section. – Manage & maintain high quality standards in compliance with the standard specification. - Manage the maintenance teams and programmes & ensure that they meet their targets. - Ensure efficient and effective administration within the section. -Perform any other related ad hoc tasks and duties as requested or required by management (supervisor) from time to time.
SALARY R 371 508.00 p.a – R 410 352.00 p.a ( Level 06 of a Grade 04 Local Authority)
Total package inclusive of all benefits: R 560 975.00 p.a
