REQUIREMENTS
-Grade 12. - National Diploma in Electrical Engineering. - Recognised Trade Tested (Red Seal). - Certified in Operation regulation for High Voltage Systems. - Code C (10) driver’s license. - Computer literacy (MS word, Excel, PowerPoint). - Knowledge of the Midvaal electrical reticulation network OR similar size electrical reticulation network, is of utmost importance in order to render a safe and effective service to the Midvaal Community. - Must be certified up to and including 88KV. - Good staff management and excellent supervision skills. - Must be willing to work overtime and do standby duties. - Knowledge of the Municipal Financial Management Act will be an added advantage. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Project Management & Financial Management skills & experience. - Competent in implementation, interpretation & enforcement of relevant legislation and applicable policies. - Proven management skills including analytical thinking, empowerment, adaptability, communication & interpersonal, leadership skills, conceptual skills, presentation skills, conflict and stress management skills, negotiation skills, attention to detail, report writing skills. - Five (5) years’ relevant Foreman experience in electrical supply environment within the Local Government Authority.
DUTIES
-Assists the superintendent and oversees, organizes all the electrical reticulation and maintenance in the electrical section. - Leads, transcribes and assists the electricians and electrical team with all maintenance and reticulation. - Supervises and controls over maintenance and repairs of all assets. - Compiling reports and maintaining accurate records. - Responding to electrical faults and emergencies. - Ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations. - Reports any loss/damage or injury sustained by any of the labour force. - Responsible for Control according to law. (ORHVS Act) (Operation Regulation for High Voltage Systems). - Be able to take responsibility of personnel and apparatus up to and including 88KV. - Responsible for safety of personnel and apparatus. - Must adhere to all applicable Council By-laws, and relevant legislation. - Perform any other related Ad Hoc tasks and duties as requested or required by management (supervisor) from time to time.
SALARY: R 390 120.00 p.a. – R 430 908.00 p.a. (Level 06 of a Grade 04 Local Authority)
Total package inclusive of all benefits: R 588 473,60 p.a
