MIDVAAL LOCAL MUNICIPALITY BY PARTICIPATING IN THE EXPANDED PUBLIC WORKS PROGRAMME AIMS TO REDUCE UNEMPLOYMENT AND ALLEVIATE POVERTY THROUGH THE CREATION OF EPWP WORK OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE UNEMPLOYED.
REQUIREMENTS
- Grade 12. - Computer Literate Certificate (MS Word, Excel). - Valid Driver’s License (added advantage). – Excellent interpersonal & communication skills (must be bilingual and at least understand English). – Applicants that reside within the Midvaal area will be given preference – Ability to follow & execute given instructions. – Must meet operational requirements of the post. – A hard-working self-disciplined person. – At least 1 year experience in data capturing within Local Government Authority or general EPWP administration roles.
DUTIES
- Handles all internal queries regarding complaints. – Ensures that all tasks delegated by the supervisor are done effectively and efficiently as deemed fit to be promptly attended as requested. – General admin duties by. – Performing fast and accurate typing duties by utilizing a word processor or personal computer to effective operation of the administration within the sections. – Capturing monthly leave transactions and related statistics/data as required related to EPWP. - Perform leave administration duties. - Perform any other related Ad Hoc tasks and duties as requested or required by management (supervisor) from time to time.

- the role by definition is considered elementary and aims to provide a basic entry data capturing and admin opportunities for the unemployed aimed at attracting semi-skilled and skilled applications. – The advertised roles are applicable for the Public Safety and Roads Department (Roads Section) and Engineering Services Department (Water, Purification and Sewer Sections). - applicants must clearly indicate which of the various sections listed they are interested in when applying. – There is 01 Data Capturer role available at the Roads and Storm Water Section and 05 positions available at Engineering Services. - targeted participants that will aid in the achievement of EPWP objectives and targets, will be given preference. – There are a limited number of EPWP Data Capturer positions available. –The temporary contract will run for a maximum of two years (24 months) from date of appointment. – Preference is given to unemployed applications, where an applicant is employed on a contract consideration will only be given if the contract termination date falls within a period of 3 months or less. - If recommended for this EPWP opportunity, applicants should know that the appointment does not create a legitimate expectation of permanent employment at the municipality. - This opportunity is not ward specific and all residents of Midvaal are encouraged to apply. – Specific preference will be given to youth (between the ages of 18 and 35). – Applicants that reside within neighbouring municipalities Lesedi Local Municipality, Emfuleni Local Musicality, Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality, the City of Johannesburg, the City of Tshwane, Mogale City, Westrand District, Sedibeng District will be disqualified. – Any applications that provide misrepresented information will be disqualified.
