REQUIREMENTS

 

-Relevant B-Degree or equivalent qualification (BSc. Or BTech. Civil Engineering). - Relevant tertiary qualification in Project Management will be an added advantage. - Meet minimum MFMA requirements or qualify for dispensation. - Valid Driver’s License with own vehicle. - Computer Literacy MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Projects. - Excellent Communication and Interpersonal skills. - Proven Management skills. - Project and Financial management skills. - Broad understanding of infrastructure development principles and practices. - Attention to detail. - Competent in interpretation, implementation and enforcement of relevant legislation and applicable policies. - 10 (Ten) years relevant experience related to Civil Engineering and the Management of the division of which at least 3 (Three) years must be at Senior Management Level with specific knowledge of all compliance regulations e.g. Blue Drop, Green Drop, No Drop and RPMS. - Proven knowledge of Local Government Supply Chain Regulations.

 

DUTIES

 

-Manage professional, technical, budgetary, analytical and administrative duties relevant to the management and coordination of support services inclusive but not limited to Land Use, Revenue Protection, Technical Support and Admin. - Ensuring that IDP objectives are achieved by implementing related, relevant projects and programmes. - Prepare departmental budget, SDBIP and ensure compliance thereto. - Liaison with consulting engineers and contractors. - Control over the mechanical section to ensure a sustainable serviced fleet of vehicles and equipment. - Undertake all primary functions of the department in accordance with legislative requirements. - Responsible for annual assessments: Blue Drop, Green Drop, No Drop, RPMS. - Responsible for water demand management and water loss programme. - Responsible for Master Planning. - Responsible WSDP. - Scrutiny, check and recommends payment certificates of contractors and consultants. - Ad-hoc analysis, projects, tenders and investigations when required. - Plan and update emergency plans within the department. - Responsible for financial management within the section, logistical management of assets. - General personnel and administration management- Perform any other related Ad Hoc tasks and duties as requested or required by management from time to time.

 

SALARY:          R 634 164.00 p.a. (Level 01 of a Grade 04 Local Authority)

                        Total Package Inclusive of all Benefits: R1065 765.96 p.a.
