REQUIREMENTS
-B Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent NQF level 7. - Valid drivers’ licence. – Have a reliable and roadworthy vehicle (proof to be provided). - Meet MFMA minimum competency requirements or qualify for dispensation. - Project Management and Financial Management skills and experience. - Competent in implementation, interpretation and enforcement of relevant legislation and applicable policies - Professional Registration certificate will be an added advantage. - Computer literate (MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint & MS Projects). - Decision making, Problem solving, Analytical and Project Management skills. - Report writing skills. - Knowledge of planning procedures and regulations. - 5 years relevant experience within Electrical environment, preferably in metering/ revenue protection, of which 3 years should be at supervision level.
DUTIES
-Manage staff complement for energy section. - Registering new electrical prepaid meters and updating consumer data on vending database. - Investigate the purchase patterns of consumers. - Eliminate the unauthorised use of electricity and tampering with electrical prepaid meters. - Prepare electrical bulk consumer accounts for the town treasurer. - Manage and control contracted vendors. - Attending to all complaints received in a professional manner. - Responsible for the management and control of the capital budget for related projects. - Submit monthly reports to Council and Executive Director on electrical sales and purchase statistics. - Compiling and implementing electrical by-laws. - Initiate long term contingency plans when needed - Perform any other related Ad Hoc tasks and duties as requested or required by management (supervisor) from time to time. Reducing and maintaining distribution losses to Nersa norms.
SALARY R507 912,00 – R546 840,00 p.a. (Level 04 of a Grade 4 Local Authority)
Total package inclusive of all benefits: R840 382,16 p.a.
