REQUIREMENTS

 

-Grade 12. -Recognised B-Degree in Architecture or Building Science or Relevant Qualification in any of the disciplines as contemplated in Section A16 of the National Building Regulations and Building Standards Act. -Valid driver’s license. -Registration with relevant regulatory body would be an added advantage. -Project Management & Financial Management skills and experience. -Meet MFMA minimum competency requirements or quality for dispensation. -Excellent interpersonal & communication skills, proven management skills (including analytical thinking, empowerment, adaptability, leadership, conceptual, presentation, conflict management, attention to detail and negotiation skills). -Competent in interpretation, implementation and enforcement of relevant legislation and applicable policies. -Computer Literate (MSWord, Excel and PowerPoint). -A hard working, self-motivated individual. -3 to 5 years’ relevant experience in the built environment within Local Government Authority or similar pressurised environment, of which 3 years must in a line management function.

 

DUTIES

 

-Examining and approval of all building plans. -Examining and approval of all outdoor advertising and telecommunication mast applications. -Enforce legal compliance through law enforcement in terms of National building regulations and other relevant legislation, policies, and procedures. -Law enforcement duties in terms of attorney liaison, compilation, and referral of illegal matters. -Pre-check all plans for submission. -Examine major developments and assist architects. -Determine fees in accordance with the approved fee structure. -Legal obligations: Approval of all residential and business building plans. -Site Development Plans: Provide comments in relation with the National Building Regulations. -Assist building office staff and building inspectors with technical, internal rules. -Assist and advice public on all queries. -Complete daily sheets for statistic purpose. -Record plan data on the electronic (Papyrus/Citysolve) system. -Keeping of records and compile monthly statistics. -Perform any other related Ad Hoc tasks and duties as requested or required by management from time to time

 

SALARY: R 507 912,00 p.a – R 546 840,00p.a (Level 04 of a Grade 04 Local Authority)

Total package inclusive of all benefits: R 840 382.16p.a
